I bet you have made a joke or two about walking into your favorite home de?cor store in July to nd Fourth of July, anksgiving and yes, Christmas decorations already on display, what is even funnier is we, as the customer, are buying them to get first choice of the season.
Yes, even at God’s Pit Crew if you came to our warehouse in July we look much like a Christmas store. Rows of boxes lled to the brim with toys, school supplies, cloths, shoes, tooth brushes, tooth paste, candy, thousands of pounds of rice, beans and the list goes on. In case you are saying to yourself “Gifts of Love” what is it and who receives it. God’s Pit Crew has partnered with John & Joyce Hanson, missionaries for 35 years to the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, Haiti. Together with the favor of God they have built and care for 18 schools and 42 churches. The impact of two people that truly live by the verse ...
“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:44.
A “Gift of Love” is a clear bag filled with items that God’s Pit Crew collects throughout the year such as toys, a note book, paper, pencils, personal hygiene, shoes, coloring books, crayons, candy and always a bag of beans or rice. Did you say beans or rice? Yes I did, you see, the child receives a gift for him or herself but also can go home with a smile to mom and dad that they have food for the family tonight. It is truly a “Gift of Love.” God’s Pit Crew is honored to have a small part in making as many children have a blessed Christmas as we can.
This year a team of over 20 volunteers are working together from August 25-28th assembling
Christmas gifts for the boys and girls of Haiti; packing each bag as full as they could with goodies and much love, making a grand total of 1,610 “Gifts of Love”. Our gifts have been loaded on a container, shipped and we are thankful the container arrived in time for Christmas.
