Randy Johnson

Many years ago Randy Johnson stood at an alter and felt the call of God to do more than occupy a pew. He had spent years as a successful small business owner, but knew that there was a higher calling. Weeks after standing in the alter at his local church and making this statement, “Here I am Lord if you can use me, use me”, devastating tornados struck Moore OK. Randy found himself coordinating an effort to go and help those affected by this tragedy. With an assembled crew, some borrowed trucks and trailers, and a determined spirit, they embarked on a journey that developed into what is now known as Gods Pit Crew. Over the years God has allowed GPC to grow into one of the most organized and efficient teams in the world of benevolence and disaster relief. One of the greatest joys Randy and Terri have in the opportunity to share about what God has done in their lives and in the ministries of Gods Pit Crew thru speaking engagements.

John Cline
Vice President of Ministry Operations

John was born in Texas and spent his early life there. When he was in high school he moved to Alabama where he graduated from high school, married his high school sweetheart, and decided to attend Auburn University. He studied Textile Engineering and graduated from Auburn in 1980 and began his career working as a supervisor in the textile industry. He continued to work in textile manufacturing management for over twenty years. Then, through an international mission trip to Ukraine, God changed the direction of his life and John accepted a calling into full-time ministry as a youth pastor at Westover Baptist Church in Danville, Virginia in 2002. During his tenure there John would return to school and earn a Masters degree from Liberty University in Religion with an emphasis in pastoral counseling. After spending eleven years as a youth pastor with a heart for international missions and leading many international trips, God again changed the direction of his life through a trip to Haiti. In 2013 John accepted the calling and offer to become the operations manager for God’s Pit Crew.

Rhonda Zola
VIce President of Advancement Operations

Rhonda grew up in the Lead Mines community in Austinville, Virginia and after graduating from Fort Chiswell High School in 1989 she immediately began working at Lowe’s Home Centers, Inc.  In 1992, Lowe’s transferred Rhonda to the Martinsville area where she still resides.  After working for several years as a Credit Manager, she was promoted to a District Human Resources Manager and began working at the Lowe’s district office in Roanoke.  After 15 years, she retired from Lowe’s to spend more time with her family.  After taking a year off, she began working at Mercy Crossing in the office and in the Christian Academy.  In 2008 God’s Pit Crew offered her the Administrative Director position.  Rhonda is a graduate of the Duke University Non-Profit Management Program.  She enjoys helping others and has traveled to Port-au-Prince, Haiti twice on a missions trip with God’s Pit Crew.  Rhonda has been happily married to her husband Tim since 2000 and has one son, four stepchildren and two grandchildren.  She loves cooking, singing and being outdoors.
Tim Case
Vice President of Business Operations 
Tim is a native of Danville, Virginia. He grew up in his family-owned automobile business established in 1928. Immediately upon graduation, he opened his own business at 18 years of age; an automotive detail shop. Four years later he joined his family dealership full-time until 2004. He then acquired the position of Church Business Administrator in his home church. While on staff he had the opportunity to travel with God’s Pit Crew to Gulfport, Mississippi and then later took a group from his church to Louisiana during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. It was during this time God called him into a new chapter in his life. He accepted the opportunity to join God’s Pit Crew as Business Manager. Tim has an extensive background and strong skill-set in business, finance and technology. He is an active member in his church and community serving in numerous positions. Tim is a graduate of the National Association of Church Business Administration and the Duke University Non-Profit Management program.  He resides in Danville with his wife Jan and enjoys classic cars, tractors, golf and the beach.

Shane Brogden
Marketing Director
Shane was born and raised in South Boston, Virginia, and is a 2014 graduate of Averett University. He received his bachelor of arts degree in Communication Studies and Journalism with a minor in Theatre Arts. At Averett, Shane was the co-editor in chief and design editor for their student news publication, The Chanticleer. He was also a student ambassador, Vice President of the Averett Theatre Players, Averett Student Government Association senator and was the 2014 recipient of the Averett University Unsung Hero award. Shane began working for God’s Pit Crew as the Promotions and Media Coordinator for GPC in September 2014. He  knew God’s Pit Crew was the right fit for him when Randy told him during his interview that they were not just hiring a person for the job, but they were hiring a family member. In his spare time, Shane enjoys photography,  and enjoys serving as a Board Member of the Halifax County Little Theatre Board of Directors.
